A Texas community is grieving after a 2-year-old girl who disappeared from her San Antonio neighborhood was found dead in a nearby creek just hours after an Amber Alert was issued. Aryana Trevino Martinez was last seen Sunday evening wearing a black top and leopard-print trousers. Authorities say surveillance footage appears to show the toddler heading toward the creek area before she was discovered.
The heartbreaking discovery came around midnight, roughly four hours after Aryana was reported missing and less than 500 yards from her home. Neighbor Uriel Ramirez, 22, joined the search immediately after hearing about the Amber Alert. Despite difficult conditions, including tall grass and rough terrain around the creek, he continued searching until he spotted the child in the water and rushed to help.
After the discovery, Ramirez described the moment as something he will never forget. “She’s like an angel and something led me straight to her,” he said, explaining that he felt drawn toward that exact location. His mother said their family felt they had to help the moment they learned a child was missing.
The tragedy has left the neighborhood searching for answers. Residents say they are struggling to understand how such a young child reached the area alone. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding Aryana’s death, while the community prepares to gather for a memorial vigil to honor her memory and support her family during this devastating time.
