What will happen to the money as Lindsay Clancy fundraiser reaches $1.2 million after mistrial

More than $1.2 million has now poured into a fundraiser connected to Lindsay Clancy’s family—and after her shocking murder trial ended in a mistrial, a huge question is hanging over the money. What happens to the donations if prosecutors decide to try her again? 😳 The answer could matter for a family already facing an agonizing and expensive legal battle.

Clancy is accused of killing her three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan—at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. She later attempted to take her own life and suffered devastating injuries. Her defense argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, claiming she was not criminally responsible for what happened.

The “Musgrove Family Fund,” created with her parents’ permission, has seen donations surge since the mistrial. Its goal has now jumped to $3 million, up from $1 million, as Mike and Paula Musgrove continue supporting their daughter and facing the costs of travel, lodging and other expenses. The fundraiser is intended to assist her parents and is not described as directly funding Clancy’s legal defense. ❤️

Then came the courtroom shock: on September 4, the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict, forcing a mistrial. The case is therefore not over. Prosecutors could seek a new trial, with a September 29 hearing expected to bring more answers. For now, the fundraiser remains open—and Clancy’s parents are left facing the heartbreaking possibility that this painful chapter may be far from its end. 💔
