New details have been revealed about the young girls who remain missing following devastating floods in Texas this week.

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced in a press conference that 23 girls are still unaccounted for out of the approximately 750 girls attending Camp Mystic, a

Christian girls-only summer camp located near the Guadalupe River. The camp was hit hard by the sudden flooding, which forced emergency evacuations and rescue efforts.

Families of the missing girls have been speaking with local news outlets,

sharing their fears and hopes as search and rescue operations continue.

Many cabins at the camp were flooded or damaged when

the Guadalupe River rose rapidly, reaching its second-highest level ever recorded,
