Somehow it just works.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The 77-year-old actor is, of course, best known for his portrayal of Mike Ehrmantraut in\u00a0<em>Breaking Bad<\/em>, and its spin-off\u00a0<em>Better Call Saul<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 but there is much more about this seasoned actor that not everyone may be aware of\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gruff. Intense. Versatile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From wise guys to cartel enforcers, Jonathan Banks is a maestro at orchestrating unforgettable performances. The clearest example of this is Banks\u2019 brilliant portrayal of the hitman&nbsp;and fixer \u201dMike Ehrmantraut\u201d \u2013 undoubtedly one of my favorite characters in&nbsp;<em>Breaking Bad<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hailing from Chillum Heights, Maryland, the actor garnered six Emmy nominations for bringing life to supporting characters across three TV shows:\u00a0<em>Wiseguy<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Breaking Bad<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Better Call Saul<\/em>. According to himself, he began dreaming of becoming an actor at the age of 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jonathan-banks-young\">Jonathan Banks young<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the mid-1960s, Banks dropped out of Indiana University after his girlfriend became pregnant, initiating his journey into the world of acting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banks has been a fixture in Tinseltown since the early 1970s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it took some time before the mainstream audience truly took notice of his talents. His rise to stardom started in the late 1980s, when Banks portrayed FBI Special Agent Frank McPike in\u00a0<em>Wiseguy<\/em>, a CBS crime drama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dIt spoke to the darkness in all of us,\u201d he once commented on his breakthrough role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\u00a0<em>Wiseguy,<\/em>\u00a0he played bad guys in well-received series like TJ Hooker and Simon &amp; Simon. He also acted in one episode of\u00a0<em>CSI: Crime Scene Investigation<\/em>\u00a0and in\u00a0Little House on the Prairie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, in 2009, he landed the role that would come to define his entire acting career.
