If you want to reduce your refrigerator’s electricity consumption, small temperature changes can make a difference. A good target is around 4°C (39°F) for the refrigerator compartment and -18°C (0°F) for the freezer. Setting the appliance unnecessarily colder can make the compressor work harder and increase energy use.
If your refrigerator uses a numbered dial instead of displaying the actual temperature, avoid automatically turning it to the maximum setting.
