A former British actress who once appeared in the spin-off of the popular TV show EastEnders: E20 and later had a small role alongside Jason Statham is now at the center of a major criminal case in Australia. Reports say 34-year-old Emaa Hussen has been accused of involvement in an alleged methamphetamine importation operation worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Australian authorities claim border officials discovered approximately 320 kilograms of methamphetamine hidden inside shipping containers that arrived from Ghana. The drugs were allegedly concealed in bags declared as charcoal before being detected during inspections. Investigators say the seizure prevented millions of doses from reaching Australian streets.
Police allege Hussen later traveled to a warehouse in western Sydney where the containers were being unloaded and was subsequently arrested at a residence in Blacktown. Authorities have also charged two other individuals in connection with the investigation, claiming they helped arrange storage facilities linked to the shipment.
Before the allegations, Hussen was best known for playing Naz Mehmet in EastEnders: E20 and appearing in the 2013 action thriller Hummingbird starring Jason Statham. She has been refused bail and remains in custody while the case proceeds. Under Australian law, importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug can carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment if a defendant is convicted. It is important to note that these are allegations, and guilt has not been established in court.
