Anne Hathaway has shared her joy after unexpectedly becoming pregnant at the age of 43. The actress first revealed the news in June with an Instagram video showing her baby bump, captioned, “Baby, I’m yours.” Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, are already parents to two sons, Jonathan and Jack, and she recently admitted they never expected another pregnancy.
Speaking at the New York premiere of The Odyssey, Hathaway said that as people get older, the chances of conceiving naturally can feel very small. She explained that she and her husband decided to see where life would lead them while keeping their expectations realistic. When they discovered she was pregnant, they were overwhelmed with happiness, knowing that many people struggling with fertility never receive that moment.

Hathaway has been open about the emotional challenges of pregnancy before. She previously revealed that she experienced a miscarriage in 2015 while performing in the stage production Grounded. Later, when announcing her second pregnancy in 2019, she offered support to those facing infertility, saying her journey to motherhood had not been a straightforward one.
Reflecting on her experiences, Hathaway said she wanted others to know they are not alone in their struggles. She explained that it can be incredibly painful to long for a child while wondering if something is wrong, and hoped that by sharing her story, she could offer comfort, understanding, and hope to families facing similar challenges.
