Ready for a quick visual challenge? This fun brain teaser asks you to look closely and test how sharp your attention really is. At first glance, the task seems simple: a wooden bowl is filled with bright yellow pears, while a banner asks, “Count the pears—are there 14 or 15?” Most people quickly choose one of those two answers. But there’s a clever trick hiding in plain sight.
Instead of counting randomly, try working your way through the pears row by row. Start with the front of the bowl, then carefully examine the layers behind it. You may find that some pears are partially hidden, making them surprisingly easy to overlook. Take your time and count the visible stems as you move from one row to the next.
In the front row, there are 4 pears. Behind them, the second row contains 5 more, bringing the total to 9. Moving farther back, the third row has another 4 pears, taking the count to 13. But there’s still one more layer hiding at the very top. Look carefully and you’ll spot 3 additional pears peeking out from behind the others.
Now add everything together: 4 + 5 + 4 + 3 = 16 pears! So if you chose 14 or 15, the puzzle successfully fooled you. The correct answer is 16. Did you manage to spot all of them, or did the tricky choices catch you off guard?
