The soap opera world is mourning Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for playing Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, who died at 62 on October 3, 2026. Emergency responders were called to his Missouri home, where he was reportedly found unconscious and not breathing. CPR and advanced lifesaving measures were performed, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His official cause of death has not been released. 💔

Born in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly took an unconventional path to acting. He performed with traveling theater groups before landing a role on Another World in 1987. At the time, he was struggling financially and later recalled sleeping in his Jeep or on friends’ couches. His major breakthrough came in 1992, when he took over the role of Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, following Peter Reckell. He later appeared on General Hospital as the villain Stavros Cassadine.
Kelker-Kelly’s years on Days of Our Lives also included an on-screen romance with Lisa Rinna, who played Billie Reed. The pair received a Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Soap Couple in 1995. However, Rinna recently described their working relationship very differently in her 2026 memoir, alleging that Kelker-Kelly bullied her and made her time on the show extremely difficult. He did not publicly respond to those allegations before his death.
Away from acting, Kelker-Kelly eventually built a second career as a professional charter pilot and flight instructor in Missouri. He had spoken about the exhausting schedule of daytime television and his desire for a quieter life away from Hollywood. Despite the controversies surrounding his career, he leaves behind decades of work in television and theater and remains best remembered by many soap fans as the Bo Brady they watched on their screens. 🕊️
