Dean Cain raised his son as a single dad — now he’s all grown up with a striking red mustache and beard

For years, fans knew Christopher Cain as the little boy his famous father was determined to put first. Today, he is a grown man, and recent photos have given fans a glimpse at how much he has changed. Dean Cain became a household name playing Superman and Clark Kent in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, but fatherhood would become one of the most important roles of his life.

Dean’s own childhood helped shape his approach to parenting. His adoptive father, Christopher Cain, had a major influence on him, and Dean has spoken about how important having a father was in his own life. When his son Christopher was born in 2000, Dean eventually became his sole custodial parent. He has said that being present for his son influenced major career decisions, including turning down a lucrative television opportunity that would have required him to spend months away from home.

Over the years, Dean has continued to speak warmly about his son, once calling Christopher “my favorite person on the whole planet.” He celebrated Christopher’s graduation from High Point University in 2023 and has shared photos of them together through the years. In one memorable moment, Christopher even helped his father with the Superman cape when Dean put the famous costume on again nearly three decades after Lois & Clark ended.

Today, Christopher looks very different from the young boy fans remember. He now sports a striking reddish-brown beard and mustache and appears to be building a path of his own, including music projects. Yet despite the changes, one thing seems to have remained constant: the close bond between father and son. From choosing Christopher over a major career opportunity to proudly watching him graduate, Dean’s message has stayed remarkably consistent—success means little if you miss the moments that matter most. ❤️
