What began as a routine flight nearly turned into a nightmare for Donnie Wahlberg and the people traveling with him. The Blue Bloods actor and New Kids on the Block singer is thankful to be alive after a private jet carrying him and his companions reportedly skidded off the runway at Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport on October 18. The frightening incident happened as the aircraft attempted to take off for Toronto, leaving everyone on board facing a terrifying ordeal.

According to reports, the Dassault Falcon 50 carried eight people, including Wahlberg, members of his team, and friends. The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot aborted the takeoff, but the aircraft continued beyond Runway 1L and struck an airport perimeter fence. Air traffic control audio reportedly captured the urgent word “Aborting” as the crew tried to stop the aircraft. Emergency vehicles were dispatched, and a temporary ground stop disrupted airport operations. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Wahlberg later shared a video on Instagram with the damaged plane visible behind him. He explained that the aircraft ran out of runway before becoming airborne and narrowly missed trucks, heavy equipment, and dumpsters before hitting the final fence. “These pilots saved our lives,” he said, expressing gratitude for the crew and adding that he believed God had protected them. His wife, Jenny McCarthy, also responded to his post with a message of thanks to God.

The incident is now under investigation by the FAA, which will work to determine what caused the aborted takeoff and runway overrun. Wahlberg had performed with New Kids on the Block the previous evening in Las Vegas and had even shared a selfie from the plane before the frightening event. 💬 What do you think about this terrifying close call?
