Man who ‘met Jesus’ in heaven during 18-day coma says only one image of Christ is accurate

Gabe Poirot says he had a profound experience during an 18-day coma after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a 2021 skateboarding accident. He claims that while unconscious, he “ascended into heaven” and came face to face with Jesus Christ, later describing what he believes Jesus looked like.

According to Gabe, Jesus appeared to be around 5’11” to 6 feet tall, with darker, Middle Eastern-looking skin, medium-length slightly curly hair and an appearance he associated with being about 33 years old. Although he says no physical image can truly capture Christ, Gabe considers the Shroud of Turin one of the closest representations he has seen.

The centuries-old Shroud of Turin bears a faint image of a crucified man and has long been associated by some believers with Jesus of Nazareth. Gabe said the image does not fully capture what he experienced, but believes it comes closer than many traditional artistic depictions. He also shared his impressions of heaven, saying there was no death or decay, only beauty and glory. ✨

Gabe said he saw buildings, monuments and beautiful libraries, describing them as places centered entirely on Christ. He recalled that the books seemed to point back to Jesus and said the experience left a lasting impression on him. He also claimed that Jesus spoke directly to him, asking, “Gabriel, why are you concerned about that which has been paid for?” His account remains a deeply personal description of what he says he experienced during his coma.
