Pop icon Taylor Swift publicly backed Vice President Kamala Harris for president on the evening of September 10, following the pivotal debate with former President Donald Trump. A new poll conducted by J.L. Partners for DailyMail now reveals the impact of Swift’s political stance in the 2024 presidential race. According to the survey, 57 percent of Republican respondents now view the 34-year-old superstar unfavorably, a dip from prior opinion surveys, whereas 71 percent of Democrats maintain a positive opinion of her.
The survey also revealed that among Independent voters, 50 percent hold a favorable or somewhat favorable opinion of Swift, while 27 percent view her negatively. The information emerged alongside other findings indicating that a majority of voters attribute higher inflation, the border crisis, and the mishandled Afghanistan withdrawal to Vice President Harris. The poll, carried out between September 13 and 15, surveyed 1,054 likely voters shortly after Swift declared her intention to vote for Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
The polling indicates that various voter groups are dismissing the significance of the endorsement. However, it remains a positive narrative for Swift among young voters who welcomed her support. Indeed, about 52 percent of individuals aged 18 to 29 reported they were more inclined to vote for the Democrat presidential nominee due to Swift’s endorsement.
