Richard Gere is returning to the big screen in a new romantic drama, Asymmetry, where he stars alongside 28-year-old actress Diana Silvers. The 76-year-old actor and Silvers were recently photographed filming a romantic scene in New York City, sitting together on a park bench while sharing ice cream as part of the movie’s storyline.
During filming, Gere appeared in character wearing a button-down shirt and gray trousers, while Silvers wore a red sweater, khaki skirt, and black heels. The pair have been seen shooting several scenes around NYC, including moments where their characters walk together, hold hands, and share emotional conversations.

The film is based on Lisa Halliday’s acclaimed 2018 novel of the same name. The story follows Alice, a young editor in New York, and Ezra Blazer, an older, famous writer whose unexpected connection with her leads to a life-changing relationship. The movie explores themes of love, creativity, ambition, and the complicated nature of human connections.
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Edward Zwick, with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz involved in adapting the screenplay, Asymmetry brings a fictional age-gap romance to the screen. While the large age difference between the characters has sparked discussion, the film aims to explore the emotions and experiences behind an unconventional relationship rather than simply the age gap itself.
