Sydney Towle’s family has shared an emotional look at the final days of the TikTok creator, who died at just 26 after nearly three years battling rare bile duct cancer. Diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma at 23, Sydney built a following of more than a million people while openly documenting her journey. Her family announced her death on August 6, describing her as an “endless ray of sunshine” and saying they were incredibly proud of her strength.
Her older brother Austin later revealed that Sydney entered hospice care just two days before she died. Family and friends gathered around her hospital bed so she could spend her final moments surrounded by people who loved her. Sydney had hoped to return home, but her condition had progressed so far that the journey would have caused too much pain. Austin said she appeared remarkably peaceful when doctors explained that further treatment was no longer possible.
Even during her illness, Sydney continued creating memories. One of her final achievements came in May, when she walked the runway at Miami Swim Week for The Chemo Club x Post Swim show, celebrating people living with cancer. Austin said the family was incredibly proud that she had managed to accomplish something so meaningful while battling stage 4 disease.
During Sydney’s final days, Austin sat beside her and reminded her of the incredible moments she had experienced. Although she became increasingly unresponsive, he continued talking to her and sharing stories. Her family hopes people remember not only her illness, but also her courage, positivity, and determination to keep living fully. Sydney’s story has left a lasting impact on the many people who followed her journey.
