A photo appearing to show Donald Trump kissing White House aide Natalie Harp on a golf course has exploded across social media, triggering speculation about their relationship. The image surfaced after Trump’s recent trip to Ireland, where he attended the Irish Open and visited his Doonbeg golf resort. However, there is no verified source establishing that the encounter shown actually happened.

The image has also raised major questions because multiple versions are circulating. The sharper version contains obvious visual irregularities, including what appears to be six fingers on Harp’s hand, and investigators found strong indications that it was generated or edited with AI. OpenAI’s verification tool also reportedly identified a SynthID watermark in the clearer version.

The White House has dismissed the viral image as “clearly a fake photo.” At the same time, fact-checkers have pointed out an important distinction: the blurry version does not itself contain conclusive AI markers, and the existence of a manipulated high-resolution version does not automatically prove the original blurry image was fabricated. There is currently no credible evidence confirming the photo as genuine.

Harp has nonetheless attracted attention because she frequently accompanies Trump and has been described as one of his close aides. Her visible presence has fueled online speculation, but no verified evidence has established a romantic relationship between Harp and Trump. The viral photo is therefore another reminder of how quickly AI-generated or manipulated images can blur the line between a real event and an online rumor.
