Christy Knowings, the beloved actress and comedian best known for Nickelodeon’s All That, has died at 46 following an asthma attack that reportedly caused severe brain damage. According to reports, Knowings was hospitalized on August 7 and placed on life support. Four days later, her family made the heartbreaking decision to remove her from life support. Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced the devastating news, remembering her as an outstanding actress, comedian, twin sister and daughter.
A Bronx native, Knowings joined All That in 1997 after being encouraged by her twin brother to audition. She went on to appear in more than 30 episodes, sharing the screen with future stars including Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Nick Cannon, Lori Beth Denberg and Amanda Bynes. One of her most memorable sketches was “Whateverrr!” with Bynes, where the two played boy-crazy girls who became fan favorites.

Knowings was more than a comedian. She was also a singer, dancer and writer, later appearing on Sesame Street with her twin brother and releasing music of her own. She often spoke proudly about the diversity of the All That cast and the cultural perspective she brought as a Native American Afro-Latina from the Bronx. Her former castmates remembered her as talented, funny and full of energy.
Kenan Thompson shared his heartbreak after learning of her death, writing that the news “hit hard” and remembering Knowings as “one of the funniest people.” For the generation that grew up watching All That, her passing is a heartbreaking loss. She helped create countless childhood memories, and her humor and unique talent will continue to live on through the show and the fans who never forgot her.
