Homeless Man Asks What He Can Buy With $0.50 At Burger King, Employee’s Response Stuns Everyone

Michelle Resendez shared a heartwarming story on Facebook about her teenage son’s act of kindness during his shift at Burger King, which resulted in a generous tip from a diner.

Matthew Resendez was working one evening when a homeless man walked in with 50 cents and asked what he could buy. Matthew sympathetically asked what he would order if cost wasn’t an issue. The man said anything would do.

Matthew then ordered a hearty meal for the man, paying with his own debit card. He handed the man the receipt and invited him to relax. A woman witnessing the exchange praised Matthew to the company and left a $100 tip for his kindness. Michelle Resendez expressed pride in her son, writing, “So proud to be his mom and I can pat myself on the back knowing that I’ve played a part in raising this big-hearted young man.” The post garnered 40,000 shares and over 147,000 likes, with many praising Matthew’s kindness. One person commented, “So nice and so kind of him you raised a beautiful person.” Another wrote, “Truly an amazing story. Thanks for doing the right thing, Matt.”
